Week 6 Day 1 – jQuery Games!

Feb 28, 2017 | Posted by Bao Le | Coding |

It’s really gotten to that point where I feel like I’m falling behind. There’s just SO much material. It was at first because I was struggling with JavaScript concepts. And with more practice, I’m doing fairly well now, but struggling with concepts have put me behind on other stuff. For example, while CSS is a fairly simple concept, there’s been so many new concepts introduced that I haven’t been able to keep up. Then over the weekend, we learned jQuery, followed by a ton of jQuery games yesterday for the projects. I definitely struggled with those games. However, working with those games are definitely helping me grasps concepts that I struggled with before.

Today’s a complete CSS day, and I want nothing more than to be able to focus on CSS since that’s what I’ve been asking for. But with Assessment 5 coming up, I want to practice for it since I don’t feel ready at all. An upside to this assessment is that I was able to pass the in-class practice assessment with time to spare. Although I was able to finish it, I didn’t quite feel like I dominated the assessment, but rather struggled through it, and was able to pass the specs based off of trial and error and sometimes luck. I think I’ll be spending most of today studying for the assessment, and maybe touching on the CSS material every now and then.

After today, we’re starting AJAX for two days, and immediately following that up with React on Friday. There’s just so much going on in a single week, my head is literally spinning trying to juggle every thing.

Welp there goes my plan this weekend. I wanted to review and do the CSS projects over the weekend, but I’ve just been told it’d be a lot better for me to look ahead towards React and REALLY start to study it up. Goddam, there’s really no time to breathe haha. Alright, back to studying for the assessment, so I’ll talk to you guys tomorrow!
